Once again, a fixture among the top 31 money winners, the seventh consecutive year he has earned his way into that elite group, tying him with Hale Irwin for second place behind Jim Colbert (11 straight times among top 31)...Continued to be among the busiest players on the SENIOR TOUR with 34 starts, the seventh consecutive year he has played 30 or more official events...Among the top 10 in 10 events for a second straight year and now has gone four straight campaigns where he has reached double figures in that category...Had two stretches where he posted successive top-10 finishes. Ran off three straight top 10s in May at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Match Play Championship (T9), TD Waterhouse Championship (T6) and Senior PGA Championship (T10). Also strung together three more top 10s late in the summer at the Novell Utah Showdown (T6), Kroger Senior Classic (T4) and Allianz Championship (T4). Held sole posssession of the 36-hole lead in Utah before being seeing his quest for his first win since 1998 go awry with a double-bogey at the par-5 17th hole on Sunday...Still ranks as one of the longest drivers on the SENIOR TOUR with a personal-best average of 283.2...Led all players in eagles with 19...Took time in June to win the Champions Challenge hosted by Johnny Miller in Utah, teaming with his son, Joseph for the title.

2000: Caddied for his youngest daughter Carrie at the U.S. Women's Open outside of Chicago...Opened with a career-low 10-under 62 at the LiquidGolf.com Invitational and was the 36-hole leader at the TPC at Prestancia before eventually T8 in Sarasota after a final-round 74...First-round leader at the EMC Kaanapali Classic following a 66 and eventually T6...Best overall finishes all came in the Midwest -- solo 3rd at SBC Senior Open near Chicago, T4 at Boone Valley Classic near St. Louis and 5th at the TD Waterhouse Championship in Kansas City and Kroger Senior Classic near Cincinnati...Went over the $5 million mark in SENIOR TOUR Career Money by pocketing at The Transamerica. 1999: Late push carried him to a personal-earnings best...Made more than a third of his total official money in his last eight appearances and was par/better in 23 of his last 25 rounds...Started his run with a second at the inaugural Bank One Championship, five strokes back of Tom Watson...Was also in contention at the Pacific Bell Senior Classic and closed with a 66 at Wilshire CC to T2, two strokes behind Joe Inman...Was tied for the 18- and 54-hole leads at the season-ending IR SENIOR TOUR Championship before eventually finishing fourth at Myrtle Beach. 1998: Went over the $1-million mark for the first time and tasted victory at the State Farm Senior Classic. Made a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th green to avert a playoff with Walter Hall and Hale Irwin...Also finished second to Hugh Baiocchi at the Comfort Classic despite posting an 18-under 198 total at Brickyard Crossing...Led the SENIOR TOUR in Total Birdies (430). 1997: Earned his first SENIOR TOUR victory in his 102nd start. Claimed the Saint Luke's Classic in suburban Kansas City in a playoff over Baiocchi. Trailed by six strokes entering the final round, but made birdie on two of the last three holes to tie Baiocchi, then defeated him with a par on the second extra hole...Came close to a second title two months later in Hawaii. Had opening rounds of 64-65 at the Hyatt Regency Maui Kaanapali Classic, but shot a 74 on the final day to finish T2, three strokes behind Hale Irwin...35 starts were one shy of the leading total of 36 by Bobby Stroble and Walter Morgan that year...Saw his string of consecutive official events end at 96 straight when he skipped the BankBoston Classic in August due to a back problem. 1996: Earned the "ironman" title after setting a SENIOR TOUR record by playing an amazing 119 rounds (the old mark was 115 by Rives McBee and John Paul Cain in 1990)...Best finish was a T4 at the BellSouth Senior Classic at Opryland, closing with 65 in the final round. 1995: Collected a career-best 14 top-10 finishes and was nominated for Rookie of the Year honors...Had two stretches that produced four consecutive top-10s and came close to a victory several times...Blitzed the Golf Club of Georgia with a course-record 63 in the first round of the Nationwide Championship and was tied with Larry Laoretti after 36 holes. Settled for a T2 with Hale Irwin, two behind Bob Murphy...Came close again in his native Utah, but was one of six players to fall one stroke short of Tony Jacklin at the Franklin Quest Championship...Also led with six holes to play at The Transamerica, but lost to Lee Trevino down the stretch...Finished the year No. 1 in birdies with 411, one more than Dave Stockton. 1994: Earned a full exemption for 1995 after a fourth-place finish at the National Qualifier...Played in four events (three Monday qualifying/one sponsor exemption)...Best finish was a T16 at The Transamerica after closing with 66.

Was inducted into the University of Utah Athletic Hall of Fame prior to the start of the 1998 season...Father, Pres, was the head baseball coach at the University of Utah and also served as an assistant football coach at the school...Favorite golf courses are The Olympic Club in San Francisco and the TPC of Tampa Bay...Likes the Discovery Channel and his favorite athletes are John Stockton and Cal Ripken...Favorite movies are Hoosiers and Field of Dreams...Biggest thrill in golf was winning the Champions Challenge event last year with his son, Joseph...Favorite books are The Book of Mormon and The Bible...Daughter, Carrie, is an All-America golfer at Brigham Young University and she has played in two U.S. Women's Opens.
