in early September shortly after turning 50 and enjoyed
a successful debut, T4 at the rain-shortened event near
Cincinnati...Carded rounds of 68-66 and earned $69,000
in his debut...Continued to have success in four of his
next five starts with three more top-10s and a T11...Was
T10 the following week at the Allianz Championship, T4
at the Gold Rush Classic and T8 at The Transamerica...Of
his 20 rounds on the SENIOR TOUR in 2001, 14 were in the
60s...Prepped for the SENIOR TOUR by playing in three
PGA TOUR and seven BUY.COM TOUR events. Best finish on
the BUY.COM TOUR was a T5 at the BUY.COM Charity Pro-Am
at The Cliffs near Greenville, South Carolina and T9 at
the BUY.COM Knoxville Open...Earned a full exemption for
the 2002 season by virtue of his sixth-place finish at
the National Qualifying Tournament in the fall. |

his career and has been involved with the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes...Helped coach his daughter's basketball
teams at one point. Daughter, Kerri, plays point guard
at Biola University near Los Angeles...Biggest thrill
in golf was winning 1985 Vardon Trophy as the PGA TOUR's
scoring leader...Favorite golf course is Pebble Beach...Likes
Mexican food and his favorite movies are The Thin Man
and Die Hard...Among his other interests are all kinds
of shooting (trap, skeet and sporting clay) and watching
his daughter play basketball...Favorite book is The Bible
