Spectator Guidelines
- Make sure your credential is visible at all times.
- Stay behind gallery ropes and cooperate with marshals.
- Please kneel or sit if you are in the front row.
- Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
- Walk carefully, never run.
Disabled Spectators
On select holes, there will be accessible seating areas available
to physically challenged spectators to ensure that they are
provided with an unobstructed view of golf. There will also
be a limited number of one-man scooters available to assist
disabled spectators with traveling. The scooters will be located
at both the main General Public Entrance adjacent to the 6th
green and the secondary entrance off Dorr Street behind the
1st and 10th tees and will be issued at no charge on a first
come, first served basis.
Magazine Vouchers
Magazine vouchers may be redeemed at the Information tents
inside each of the three admission gates. Additional Championship
Magazines will be sold in the Merchandise Pavilion or the
Inverness Club Professional Shop for $7 each.
Merchandise Pavilion
The Merchandise Pavilion will be located between the 5th tee
and 3rd green near the S.P. Jermain Pavilion. The 8,000 sq.
ft. Merchandise Pavilion will offer a wide array of apparel
and souvenirs. A second merchandise location will be in the
Inverness Club Professional Shop, which is located west of
the clubhouse behind the 1st tee.
Purchases at the Championship
The Admission Gates, Merchandise Pavilion, and S.P. Jermain
Pavilion will accept CASH, VISA and MASTERCARD. The concession
stands will accept CASH ONLY. ATM machines will be available
to the public in the Merchandise Pavilion located adjacent
to the 3rd hole and the Inverness Club Pro Shop in the main
parking area.
Autographs
The 2003 U.S. Senior Open event officials and its players
respectfully request that autographs are sought with sincere
discretion and only on practice days, Monday through Wednesday.
Camera Policy
Cameras and camcorders are only allowed Monday through Wednesday
during practice rounds for personal use. Cameras found during
the Championship rounds will be confiscated.
Personal Items on the Championship Course
Spectators, volunteers and staff will not be allowed through
admission gates with the following: weapons/firearms (regardless
of permit), knives, radios, portable televisions, strollers,
bicycles, lawn or folding armchairs, picnic baskets, cellular
telephones, pagers, laptop computers, coolers, backpacks,
metal-spiked golf shoes, pets (other than service animals),
ladders, signs or banners. These items will be collected and
placed at TECH CHECK located at each entrance and can be picked
up at the end of the day.
Championship Format
The format for the U.S. Senior Open is 72-hole stroke play.
The field will consist of 156 contestants. Entries are open
to male professional or amateur golfers at least fifty years
old. Amateurs with up-to-date USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding
3.4 under the USGA Handicap System were eligible to qualify.
General
Public Parking
The General Public Parking facility is located off Hill Avenue
adjacent to Inverness Club and is open to all spectators.
Spectators will be entering the course at the 6th Hole.
A handicapped parking area will be designated in the General
Public Parking and Lot D. All disabled patrons that do not
have a Lot D Parking Pass should use the General Public Parking
Lot. Vehicles with a handicap license plate or hangtag will
be allowed access into this area.
