| Given name is Marvin M. Giles III . . . Owner and President of a golf management firm which represents Tom Kite, Davis Love III, Lanny Wadkins, Beth Daniel and Meg Mallon. . . Competed extensively in amateur golf from 1961-’77. . . He was a three time NCAA All-American at Georgia and represented the United States on four (1969, ’71, ’73 and ’75) Walker Cup Teams. . . He won both the United States Amateur Championship (1972) and the British Amateur Championship (1975). . . Has won seven Virginia State Amateur Championships. . . In 1990 he was named Virginia Golfer-of-the-Year and won the Crump Cup at Pine Valley Golf Club. In 1992 he was the Captain of the American squad in the World Amateur Cup in Vancouver and in 1993 was the American Captain of the Walker Cup Team. |
