Self-employed in the auto business. This marks the 37th time he
has tried to qualify for a USGA event, and the second time he has
qualified; tried to qualify for the U.S. Open every year from age
16 to 50, closest he ever came was a seven-hole playoff in sectional
qualifying; this will be his second U.S. Senior Open, first played
in 2000 Senior Open at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem,
Pa.; shot 75-78, missed the cut; qualified for 2003 Senior Open
from Staley Farms CC in Kansas City, shot a 70 which put him in
a four-person playoff for two spots. Earned a par on the first hole
and qualified; won the 1999 Heartland Tour senior event in 1999.
Before starting in the auto business, worked for 14 years as a club
pro, started out in Kansas City, also worked in Omaha and in Oklahoma
City; the husband of his next door neighbor, David Mosley, will
caddie for him at the Senior Open.
