Data Institute, a trade school for computer technology in San Francisco;
biggest accomplishment in golf includes qualifying for the Senior
Open; Green Valley CC in Suisun, California, 66 players for two spots,
shot a 72, won a spot in a sudden-death three-hole playoff, went birdie-birdie-birdie;
turned professional three years ago, and began playing mini-tours,
generally playing only eight a year; best he has finished is second
place in 2002 at Bayonet Course at Monterrey. Trying to earn spot
in Champions tour events through Monday qualifiers, will go out for
the Q-school for Champions Tour; has been playing golf for 12 years,
grew up around golf because father Jack was top amateur in the ’50s
and ’60s, even having played against Nicklaus in the round of 32 in
the US Amateur. In Nicklaus book described that match in 1960
as one of the toughest of his amateur career; married to wife, Connie,
has a son, Coleman, and a daughter, Caroline, and four grandchildren,
