A Worldwide Team
Unisys is official provider of scoring technology to the
United States Golf Association for their major championships
-- and they've done the job since 1985.
Unisys is also a long-time supplier to the Royal and Ancient
Golf Club, delivering scoring services to the U.S. Open Championship
since the start of its sports results program two decades
ago.
In addition, the PGA European Golf Tour relies on Unisys
scoring for all its tournaments, as do the organizers of the
Australasian Tour, the South African Tour, the Tour de Las
Americas and events on the Asia and Japan Tour.
Lastly, creative Unisys people developed a TV graphic application
that displays real-time wind direction and distance.
On its introduction in 1999, the Unisys "Wind Stick"
was one of the more popular aspects of ABC network's
coverage of the PGA Tour in the U.S. -- and was used extensively
by the BBC during coverage of the British Open Championship.
Major networks such as CBS, ESPN, The Golf Channel, TV Asahi
and NTV of Japan and CTV Canada have also used this system
for their coverage of golf.
