Player Notes: Became just the eighth open qualifier in Champions Tour history to win a tournament when he triumphed at the 2002 NFL Golf Classic. Qualified for the event on Tuesday when he posted a 67. Had competed in eight PGA Club Professional Championships, with a career-best finish T-13 in 1997. . . Was a teaching professional at The Orchard Country Club in Clarksville, Ga. . . Tied for fourth in the 2001 PGA Senior Club Professional Championship . . .
