Full Exemptions

Players in the following categories will be eligible for exemption from Sectional Qualifying. Exemption under categories reserved for amateurs will be granted only to player who are currently amateurs. An Amateur who is exempt into the Championship proper through a category reserved for amateurs becomes ineligible if he becomes a professional before the beginning play or during the play of the Championship. Exempt players who wish to participate in the Championship must file an entry, except those players for whom blank entries are filed as noted below. Exempt players need not meet the handicap requirement.

S-21. Any player in his first five years of age eligibility who has won the U.S. Open Championship.

S-22. Any player turning 50 from the 2004 U.S. Senior Open date of minimum age eligibility (July 29, 2004) through this year's date of minimum age eligibility (July 28, 2005) who has won a U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur, Masters Tournament, British Open, British Amateur, or PGA Championship (one-time exemptions)
