Player Notes: Started playing golf at age 10 when he attended a clinic that was given by the head professional at the Highland Golf Club in Fayetteville, N.C. Once he started to hit balls, he was hooked... A journalism major at the University of Georgia, he enjoyed considerable success on the Bulldog golf team. As a senior, he was named the Athlete of the Year and that's the first time a golfer had ever been honored at Georgia... Since joining the Tour in 1979, he was one of the most consistent players, not only cracking the top 125, 16 straight years between 1981 and 1996, but finishing in the top 25 between 1987 and 1993... Member of the 1989, '91 and '93 Ryder Cup Team...
